The Von Baer luggage range is for business travelers who fly often enough to know what fails first on the road. Over the years we've seen countless travel bags fail because of bad hardware and design: low-grade hardware that tarnishes and splits at the joints, polyester linings that tear and bonded leather that peels at the stitched edges - and so we designed our range specifically to fix this.

Our $495 to $1,995 range uses A-grade full-grain leather, signature hardware and cotton canvas lining throughout. We work with experienced artisans, and our bags are backed by our 5-year repair warranty with duties pre-paid for the US, Canada and 20+ listed markets.

Von Baer designer luggage uses A-grade full-grain leather across every product in the range, Cuoio Superiore certified on our core luggage, paired with signature hardware and lined with fine cotton canvas. Every hide is cut from the bend, where the fibers are densest, and drum-dyed so the color runs right through. Our combination of certified leather, high-grade hardware and cotton canvas is what survives the trip back: hardware checked four times by four different teams, cotton that doesn't scratch what you keep inside and leather that keeps its refined look (rather than peeling at the corners).

• Cuoio Superiore Across The Full Range: Every bag in this range carries Cuoio Superiore certification. We chose this leather standard because it requires laboratory testing and an independent on-site audit at the tannery at least every three years. We refuse self-declared leather grades because they carry no enforceable standard.
• Signature Hardware Throughout: Every buckle, lock, base foot and zipper pull passes four separate checks by four different teams. We treat hardware as the most common luggage failure point on a long trip, so we hold it to the grade of the leather around it: it keeps its finish across years of travel.
• Cotton Canvas Lining: Our luggage is lined with fine cotton canvas, including the wheeled carry-on. We rejected polyester and microfiber linings because they spot-clean easily but scratch what you keep inside. Our cotton canvas extends to every tier, lining the entry-tier crossbody with the same fabric as the flagship; the inside of a bag matters as much as the outside.
• Small-Batch Craftsmanship: Almost all bags in this range are handcrafted in small batches by experienced artisans, in workshops where techniques pass between generations rather than scale up to factory volume.
• 5-Year Repair Warranty: We back every piece with a 5-year limited warranty covering defects in materials or workmanship under normal use. Our 5-year term isn't accidental: leather luggage built this way carries you for years of trips, not seasons.
• Duties and Taxes Included: Von Baer pre-pays every duty and tax into the displayed price for US and Canada orders, and for 20+ other markets listed on our shipping page. If you've been hit with a customs surcharge on a previous international luxury order, we built the duty into the price on the page so you don't pay twice. Our price holds at the door, so what you see at checkout is what you pay.
