• A-grade hides, cut from the bend for density and strength: we select A-grade hides only from Bos Taurus cattle, chosen for their tight, fine, consistent grain, and cut them from the back and butt of the hide where the fibers are densest. Hides with excessive bites, scars or surface damage don't make the selection, so the grain looks cleaner and more consistent.
• Drum-dyed, so the color runs all the way through: We drum-dye the leather, so the color runs all the way through it: if it's ever scuffed, the leather underneath is the same shade, not the pale mark surface-dyed leather shows.
