• Full-grain leather cut from the bend: we select A-grade hides only from Bos Taurus cattle and cut them from the bend, the back and butt of the hide, where the fibers are densest and tightest. Hides with excessive scars or surface damage don't make the selection. Full-grain is the top layer of the hide with the natural grain preserved in full, and our leather wears with quiet distinction through years of daily use, where bonded leather peels at the stitched edges.
• Drum-dyed leather: We drum-dye the leather, so the color runs all the way through it: if it's ever scuffed, the leather underneath is the same shade, not the pale mark surface-dyed leather shows.
